“Bye Leo, have a good week at work,” I feel around in my purse for my key. Finding it, I open my door and am about to close it when Leo is there holding it open. “Oh, hey…”

He’s got a curious new look on his face. I’ve known Leo for a few years now. He’s a close friend of Dustin's and over the years he’s become a good friend of mine too. He’s calm, genuine, easy to talk to, and knows how to make me laugh.

Leo drums his fingers on the door and leans toward me. I almost back away from him when it hits me that he is trying to invade my personal space, but why?

“So Erin…” fingers drumming, “I like you.”

I smile and as a flush of clumsy words falls out of my mouth, “I think I like you too.”

He laughs tossing his head back. He’s got a great laugh.

“Well,” he leans toward me a tiny bit further sucking up a little more of my oxygen, “what if we see if I can turn that think you like me into a know you like me?”

My smile broadens, “On a date?”

“Yeah, how about this week? Thursday, when you don’t have the kids?”

I mentally go through my schedule, “That can work.”

He inhales sharply as his smile widens, “I’ll text you.”

“Alrighty,” I murmur as he shuts the door and strides toward his truck looking over his shoulder before climbing in.

“Alrighty…” I murmur through gritted teeth and start my car up, “Who says alrighty?” I shake my head and pull my car into the street heading to my house.
