My heart squeezes. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘔𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩? This woman is going to drive you crazy.
“It’s a good price for this area.”
She does a slow circle around the room, arriving at the window and looking down. What is she thinking? I’ve never been so curious about what is going on in a woman's head before.
“Thank you, Mitch. For everything you’ve done and helped us with. If it’s really all right with you, we’d love to stay here until we can go back to the house…” she clears her throat, “or figure something else out.”
A smile pops on my face. A big one, making my cheeks hurt, and I remember that I look kinda scary when my smile is this big, so I close my trap. I place the key in her hand.
